The antiquities of Cairo and a week on the finest boat on the Nile

Touring Cairo and the Nile

The Nile in Style

Gay Egypt may seem a conflict in terms, but after thirty years of sailing the Nile, Hanns Ebensten Travel can assure you, there’s no De-nile on our cruise. Our signature tour of Egypt has escorted gay men through the antiquities of Egypt for decades without incident (except perhaps a few broken hearts). From Cairo, we visit the Pyramids, the Sphinx and Gizeh.

Then we cruise the Nile in the “cosseted style of an earlier age,” in comfort aboard our privately chartered paddle steamer, the splendid ss Karim. Built for King Fuad, (but fit for a queen) the ss Karim, refurbished to its original grandeur, includes all modern comforts. Relax for a leisurely seven-day cruise on the Nile between Aswan and Luxor, stopping each day to visit archeological sites, bazaars and local villages. While in Aswan we fly to the beautifully preserved Abu Simbel, overlooking Lake Nassar.
