It's difficult to imagine a more ideal gay holiday or vacation destination than Costa Rica. Only a short flight from the USA, this tiny tropical country boasts a staggering array of natural attractions, a rich and distinct cultural heritage, and the most developed gay culture in all of Central America.

The first part of our week-long adventure in Costa Rica we'll be based in the country's teeming, intriguing capital, San Jose. Here, in deliciously cool evenings three-quarters of a mile above sea level, we'll explore San Jose's mix classic architecture and vibrant culture. Daytimes are reserved for excursions into the lush tropical hinterlands. Poas volcano is only a short drive away, yet feels like another world. Our all-day whitewater rafting adventure down the pristine Reventazon River is sure to be a highlight of your trip.

The remainder of the week will be spent in paradisiacal Manuel Antonio National Park, famous for its rainforest, its beaches and gay nightlife. Spend a half-day kayaking and then relax on Central America's only gay beach. Choose between horseback riding and mountain biking along verdant jungle trails, stopping to splash in a waterfall. Cap off the day with a sunset cruise. !Que Rico!
