The lost city of Angkor Wat - and much more

Angkor Wat, the beaches, and historic Phnom Penh

The Lost Kingdom: Explore Cambodia and Angkor Wat

A thousand years ago, amidst the jungles of southeast Asia, the rulers of the Khmer kingdom built a massive complex of temples and palaces. One temple alone covered two square kilometers, using as much stone as Great Pyramid in Egypt. The entire complex extends over 400 square kilometers.

Then, mysteriously, they moved on, and slowly, the jungle retook the land. Angkor Wat was unknown to the outside world until 1860, when French missionaries found the overgrown city and began a long process of research, preservation, and restoration that continues to this day.

For most travelers, Angkor Wat will be the highlight of this vacation tour, but there's much more to see in Cambodia. We'll have time to hike to remote waterfalls, to explore historic Phnom Penh, and to relax on the white-sand beaches of the Gulf of Thailand.
