Edelweiss: Hiking in the Swiss Alps

The alpine Swiss village of Zermatt is a hikers' paradise. Here, inspired each day by ever-changing views of the Matterhorn, we can choose from over 200 miles of varied and well-marked alpine trails.

One day, hike past meadows carpeted in yellow and violet wildflowers. The next, explore a glacier. Then head up alongside a mountain stream, past cascading waterfalls, to a high ridge overlooking dozens of peaks.

Zermatt's extensive network of lifts and mountain cog trains allows you to visit remote spots without long hikes, and to tailor each day to be as long, or short, as you wish. However you spend the day, there will be new friends and warm apfelkuchen awaiting when you return.
