Italy by bike: Tour back into a forgotten era.

Seven centuries ago here in Italy, at the heart of the Renaissance, the arch-rival cities of Florence and Siena sought to outshine one another. Today, the narrow streets of these historic towns serve as the anchors for a picturesque bike route.

We start in Florence, Italy, home of Michelangelo's David, then sweep through the celebrated wine region of Chianti. Our route takes us past Etruscan tombs dating back to 400 BC, on to the medieval towers of picturesque San Gimignano, and through forests where wild boar still ferret out buried truffles ... if our chef hasn't gotten to them first.
